- Prepare to plan project
- Techniques for project planning are reviewed and adopted in accordance with workplace procedures
- Instrumentation and control project is determined from design brief specification and/or relevant documentation and in discussions with relevant person/s
- Develop project plan proposal
- Project budget is determined from estimated plant, material, labour and relevant costs in accordance with workplace procedures
- Critical path analysis is applied to developing workflow strategies
- Sources and availability of materials and human resources required for project are determined in accordance with workplace procedures
- Risk management strategies are sought and obtained in accordance with project plan
- Project plan is reviewed against inputs and adjusted to rectify any anomalies
- Project plan proposal is documented in accordance with workplace procedures
- Obtain approval for project plan
- Alterations to the project plan from presentation/discussion are negotiated with relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedure
- Final project plan is documented and approval obtained from relevant person/s
